Backcountry - touring skiing
When
you think of backcountry skiing or touring skiing it comes to your mind: mountains, ungroomed
virgin snow, unbelievable landscape and leaving a trace with your
skis where nobody has skied there before! There is an 'unwritten rule'
in backcountry skiing if we ski in groups we must never pass on someone
else trace, each one leaves its own mark on the mountain.
The backcountry skiing season in Patagonia (Chile & Argentina) goes from August to October in some
areas even in November.
We offer backcountry skiing in South America (The Andes) in two areas: South
Patagonia (El Chaltén surrounding area) and North
Patagonia (San Carlos de Bariloche nearby area and the volcanoes
in Chile). You may choose from full day ski advetures and hut to hut skiing or backcountry ski expeditions of several days with expert local ski guides.
You have to have a good ski level skills and training for backcountry
skiing programs. Please
check our difficulty grading chart!
