This range is the first that appears when we enter the Ice Cap. Its beauty and magnitude will shock us. Our goal is the major summit, through Paso Marconi. Great view of the Ice Cap, Marconi, Torre and Fitz Roy ranges.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Meeting with the mountain guide and gear checking at our office in El Chaltén. (D)

Day 2: Transfer to Rio Electrico. Hike to Piedra del Fraile and to our first camp at La Playita. Camp 1. Trekking time: 6 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 3: Ascension to Paso Marconi (1550 mtrs.) . Camp 2. Trekking time: 7 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 4: Approach to our basecamp. Camp 3. Trekking time: 7hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 5: Traverse Camp 3 - basecamp. Camp 4. Trekking time: 6 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 6: Ascent to Cerro Mariano Moreno. Back to Camp 4. Trekking time: 12 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 7: Traverse Camp 4 - Camp 3. Trekking time: 6 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 8: Traverse Camp 3 to Paso Marconi. Camp 2. Trekking time: 7 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 9: Descent to Paso Marconi continue to Piedra del Fraile. Trekking time: 7 hrs. (B-L-D)

Day 10: Hike Piedra del Fraile to Rio Electrico. Trekking time: 2 hrs. Transfer to Chalten. (B-L)

Days 11,12,13,14 : Extras days in case of bad weather.

Note: We do our best to adhere to the schedule listed above, however this itinerary is subject to change due to weather conditions.


Includes: gear (ropes, crampons, harnesses), guide and guide's assistant(s). transfers, camping lodging, meals as quoted (L: lunch, D: dinner, B: breakfast) with non alcoholic beverages. Also group equipment: tents, stoves, technical gear, first aid kit, GPS, and radio.

Not included: hotel or inn / camping lodging first and last day of mountaineering trip at El Chalten, personal gear, clothes, boots, sleeping bag, backpack, phone calls, insurance, beverages and meals not detailed as included, porters and tips.

NOTE: You will have to carry a 15/18 kilos backpack. We will share the general gear and food. (Personal porters may be hired at extra expense fee).
